Texas Instruments LM25085MM

The Texas Instruments LM25085MM is a synchronous step-down switching regulator that provides an output voltage of up to 5A from an input voltage range of 4.5V to 42V. The device features a relatively high fixed switching frequency of 500kHz that allows for the use of small external components while minimizing input ripple current. The LM25085MM operates at a high efficiency rate due to its dual N-channel MOSFET synchronous rectifier topology which eliminates the need for an external Schottky diode.

The LM25085MM uses a current-mode control loop to regulate output voltage and features input undervoltage lockout (UVLO) and thermal shutdown protection circuits. In addition, it contains an adjustable soft-start circuit to control the inrush current at startup. The LM25085MM is available in a small 10-pin DFN package with an exposed pad which allows for excellent thermal performance.
