Description
The Texas Instruments LM25085MM is a synchronous step-down switching regulator that provides an output voltage of up to 5A from an input voltage range of 4.5V to 42V. The device features a relatively high fixed switching frequency of 500kHz that allows for the use of small external components while minimizing input ripple current. The LM25085MM operates at a high efficiency rate due to its dual N-channel MOSFET synchronous rectifier topology which eliminates the need for an external Schottky diode.
The LM25085MM uses a current-mode control loop to regulate output voltage and features input undervoltage lockout (UVLO) and thermal shutdown protection circuits. In addition, it contains an adjustable soft-start circuit to control the inrush current at startup. The LM25085MM is available in a small 10-pin DFN package with an exposed pad which allows for excellent thermal performance. The device is suited for many industrial and automotive applications that require high efficiency, low quiescent current, and a wide input voltage range
