Description
The Analog Devices TMP36FS is a precision temperature sensor that converts the ambient temperature into a voltage output. It has a temperature range between -40°C to +125°C and an accuracy of ±1°C at +25°C. This sensor uses low voltage operation and consumes very low power, making it ideal for battery-powered applications. It is housed in a small three-lead package and has a linear output characteristic with a sensitivity of 10mV/°C. It also has a low output impedance, allowing it to drive long cables without any signal degradation. The TMP36FS does not require any external calibration or trimming, making it a low-maintenance solution for measuring temperature accurately.
The TMP36FS is an analog output temperature sensor, which operates on a single power supply of 2.7V to 5.5V. The output voltage is proportional to the temperature sensed by the sensor and it ranges from 0.5V to 1.5V when the temperature range varies from -40°C to +125°C. This provides a linear output voltage for the temperature range, which can be easily read by the ADC of a microcontroller. It also has low quiescent current consumption of ~50 µA, making it suitable for use in battery operated applications. The device has a fast response time and is compatible with both lead-free and leaded soldering processes. The small form factor and cost-effective nature of the device also make it popular for consumer applications, such as thermostats, digital thermometers, and HVAC controls
