Description
The Texas Instruments ULN2003 is an integrated circuit commonly used to drive high current loads such as relays, lamps, and stepper motors. The IC consists of seven Darlington array stages with common emitters. Each stage can handle a maximum continuous current of 500mA and a peak current of 600mA. The ULN2003 features built-in clamp diodes for inductive loads, which protect the IC and other components from voltage spikes caused by the collapsing magnetic field. The IC operates using a wide range of input voltages, from 5V to 50V, and can be controlled by both TTL and CMOS logic signals.
The ULN2003 has a compact 16-pin DIP (Dual Inline Package) design that allows it to fit easily on a printed circuit board. The IC is also available in a surface-mount package for applications where space is limited. Additionally, the ULN2003 is designed to work at a wide range of temperatures, from -40°C to 85°C, making it ideal for use in automotive, industrial, and consumer electronic applications. Overall, the Texas Instruments ULN2003 is a versatile and reliable IC that provides an easy-to-use, high-current solution for driving loads
