Description
The Texas Instruments LM339N is a quad comparator designed for voltage comparisons in different applications. The device features four independently operating comparators that have an input common-mode voltage range up to VCC+ and a single-supply voltage range from 2V to 36V, with a typical power consumption of only 0.8mA. Additionally, the LM339N has an open collector output that allows the device to drive up to 15 TTL loads directly and is capable of working in both linear and digital circuits.
The LM339N is built specifically for controlling the output in a variety of industrial, automotive and consumer applications, ranging from controlling motor speeds to detecting short circuits and overvoltage protection. The device's low power consumption, small size and high operating voltage range make it an excellent choice for applications where space and power consumption are critical. Furthermore, the LM339N enables design flexibility with its pin compatibility with other comparators in the LM series, which makes it a widely used component in many electronic designs
